ROLE 1. 

🥖 WANTED: Baker / Bread Nerd / Creative Flour Wizard

Palmerston North | 30+ hours | Weekends OFF (yes, really)

Do you love bread… but hate selling it to grumpy people at 7am?
Are you passionate about food but slightly traumatised by supermarket bakeries, alarms, and mass-produced sadness?
Do you believe flour should be treated with respect, curiosity, and a bit of chaos?

Excellent. We should talk.

About Us

We’re a small-scale wholesale bakery making scratch bread, creative sweet treats, and fun, slightly unhinged projects for special customers who trust us (and our butter usage).
No shopfront pressure. No upselling sourdough to strangers. Just good food, good people, and lots of “what if we tried this?” moments.

The Role

We’re looking for a baker or suitably skilled food human to join our small, hardworking, genuinely nice team.

Hours & Schedule:

  • 30+ hours per week ( or less if we can find more than one of you! or more if we can add value to the biz)

  • Choose your adventure:

    • 3 x 10-hour shifts OR

    • 4 x 8-hour shifts OR

    • ?? What can we make work ??

  • Morning, daytime or nighttime options, Real life friendly. Want to Pick up the kids from school and come back later? As long as it works, go nuts.

  • Weekends off (your friends won’t believe you)

You’ll Probably Be:

  • Comfortable with production baking basics (doughs, mixes, ovens, timing, the usual magic)

  • Creative and very into food

  • Curious, practical, and not afraid to try new things

  • Keen to grow with a fun, cool business instead of just surviving shifts

  • A team player who understands that small teams = everyone matters

You’re Definitely Not:

  • Jaded beyond repair

  • Allergic to flour

  • Only interested in pushing buttons on a machine and clocking out
    (If that’s your vibe, we lovingly release you back into the wild.)

ROLE 2.

📦 Packing & Dispatch Superstar Wanted (Part-Time)

Palmerston North | Flexible hours | Wed–Fri | Weekends OFF

Do you enjoy packing things neatly, keeping orders moving, and calmly negotiating with machines that have big feelings?

Meet Patricia Packer — our flow-wrapping machine.
She’s excellent at her job, slightly temperamental, and responds best to patience, consistency, and the occasional firm word.

About the Role

We’re a small-scale wholesale bakery looking for a part-time packing and dispatch legend to help get our goods wrapped, packed, chilled, frozen, and out the door to couriers on time.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Packing baked goods using Patricia Packer™

  • Packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch

  • Moving finished goods into and from freezers and chillers

  • Occasionally finishing bread and sweet treats

  • Using computer-based ordering and dispatch systems

  • Printing labels, checking orders, and completing basic paperwork

  • Making sure what we’ve packed matches what’s been ordered (very important, surprisingly satisfying)

Hours & Schedule

  • Flexible hours — early morning, daytime, or late night, if it gets the goods finished and packed and the orders there on time we are into it. 

  • Currently looking for help Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Weekends OFF

This Role Is Great If You:

  • Like practical, hands-on work

  • Are organised and have good attention to detail

  • Can stay calm when machines test your emotional resilience

  • Enjoy being part of a small, hardworking, friendly team

  • Appreciate good food and a job where your work genuinely matters

Experience with food packing or machinery is a bonus, but not essential — we’ll train the right person and formally introduce you to Patricia.
